How to Measure Your Mattress

Not sure of your size, or working with an older or non-standard bed? Measure in three quick steps:

1. Width — measure from side to side across the top of the mattress.

2. Length — measure from head to foot.

3. Depth — measure from the top surface down to where the mattress meets the base. This is the one most people forget, and it's the key to a fitted sheet that stays put.

Fitted Sheet Depth

Our fitted sheets are made with deep, elasticised corners designed to hug most standard and pillow-top mattresses.

• Standard fit: suits mattresses up to approximately 35–40 cm deep.

• Deep or pillow-top mattresses: if yours is thicker than average, or you use a mattress topper, measure the depth first to guarantee a snug, secure fit.

Our tip: If you use a topper, measure with the topper on. That's the depth your fitted sheet actually needs to cover.

Quilt / Doona Sizing

Here's something worth knowing: your quilt should usually be sized up from your mattress, not matched to it. That extra size gives you proper overhang on both sides, so no one gets left with a cold shoulder, and it delivers that full, draped, hotel-styled look.

Sharing a bed? If one of you tends to pull the covers, sizing up one more from our recommendation gives you extra coverage to go around.

Pillow Sizes

Styling note: Euro pillows sit upright at the back of the bed and are the secret behind that layered, five-star hotel look. Standard pillows sit in front for sleeping.
